What a beautiful
place to visit for the weekend.! Idyllwild is a small mountain community with cute little shops and great places to hike and
explore. I was there for a ladies' retreat and broke away during my free time to check out the Idyllwild Nature Center
for a couple of hours. Time just flew by! It was better than I expected. Inside the nature center building are some exhibits
and a gift shop. My favorite part, however, is the observation deck. Just off the deck hang several different types of feeders to encourage local birds to come and feed. This is a great place to enjoy birding with basically no hiking. I sat there for
the longest time in my chair, just checking out the birds. Of course, when there are bird feeders in a mountain location, all the other little creatures get into the act too. It was a fun and relaxing day watching all the
feathered and furry action.
