The place to see Hummingbirds! Go for the day or spend the
night at Beatty's. You can see up to 15 different species of Hummingbirds. People come from all over the world to see
hummers in this quiet apple orchard set in Miller Canyon National Forest. Beatty's holds the U.S. record for 14 species
of hummers seen in one day! It is the only place in the US that you can almost be guaranteed to see the white-eared hummingbird.

Fremont Cottonwood-Goodding Willow riparian forest which is the largest in the country. Oldest trees- 130+ yrs. Tallest trees-

58-acre natural park with a year-round stream. Plenty of birds native to California. Four miles of hiking trails traverse one of the few remaining
areas of oak woodland and coastal sage scrub in our region. Native wildlife makes the canyon their home and is just
waiting to be discovered. On my last visit I saw a racoon taking a map up in the trees. Very cute! There is also a small
museum with live animal and regional natural history exhibits. Birds

Great walking trails on elevated wooden pathways. Lots of bird activity.
The host has multiple feeders that you can sit and enjoy watching birds at the feeders. I have seen Long-eared owl nestlings
the last several years here in May. Several birds you can expect to see are warblers, wrens, oriels, hawks, falcons, jays,
sparrows, finches, owls, and a ton more. This is a must stop when visiting the Palm Desert area.
